1000

I would like to take this opportunity to brag a little:

Today I cycled my 1000th mile on my bike.

I feel awake and alive coming into work.  I have lost weight(not that I was getting fat).  I can commute by bike faster than bus or train.  Now if I can just stave off the desire to buy a new bike already, I think this will work out well.

High Five?

Oaks Amusement Park

Melissa and I decided it was time for us to make our first visit to Oaks Amusement Park in South Portland. Pretty awesome little park with a lot of history. Here was my favorite ride:

Apply Directly to the Forehead

Happy Labor DAY!!!!!!! I had to "wikipedia" this holiday to truly find the meaning:

"Labor Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the first Monday in September. The holiday originated in 1882 as the Central Labor Union (of New York City) sought to create "a day off for the working citizens".

Traditionally, Labor Day is celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer."

I accept. Work has been pretty awesomely busy. I have been scurrying to learn all the systems and make quick work to improve things. It feels good to be busy and actually making progress on things. This was an issue with my last job, it lacked both the before mentioned elements.

Enough of the past.

What do you think about all this?

Smells like fish to me, and now they just announced she IS pregnant with a new baby to the family. Someone pointed out that this would be a great diversion, and to possibly expect a miscarriage later. I need to stop getting dragged into these distracting stories. Bottom line, what a joke of a VP choice.

I stopped using Twitter a long time ago, but I occasionally pop in on some people's feeds to see what I am missing/kill time while laughing. I think watching two people(1 and 2) fight/break up on twitter is one of the funniest/saddest signs of the times. Thank you for the entertainment folks.

The weather has gotten chilly and rainy recently, reminding Melissa and I how much we loved last winter. Kind of excited about it all. I ordered a new helmet(Black) and some shoe booties to prepare for this new season of wet bicycle commuting.

(yes I said booties)

Melissa's parents and brother were in town this last week. I think they enjoyed their visit. Melissa was able to take the week off of work to show them as much as she could while they were here. She is now sleeping the rest of the weekend. It was great seeing them, and I hope they come back soon.

Back to watching reporters yelling into a mic over wind noise. Enjoy your day!
